Adrift

The hum of the snow,
as you fall parallel to the flakes

Blue crystalline sorrow obscured
in the silhouette of a bittersweet moon

A melody of glistening indifference
carving the night with its distant song

I wait for you on the porch we shared,
a lantern in my bones to guide you as
my eyes peer into every geometric shape

But you dance aimlessly in the atmosphere,
never landing, never grazing my skin

And all that remains of the evacuation
is the wintry rhythm of your anarchy

A lullaby for my vacant mind
The hum of the snow.
